Accommodation (Athletes & Officials)
Due to the estimated amount of athletes and officials (circa 2000 plus) attending the Gibraltar 2019 NatWest Island Games a wide variety of prices ranges and types accommodation is required. The types of accommodation will range from 5 star hotels to school classrooms.
Member Islands will need to book their teams accommodation (athletes & officials only) through the official ‘Gibraltar 2019 Travel Agent’.
Europa Athletes Village
Situated in the South District at Europa Point, the Europa Athletes Village will accommodate up to 1200 athletes and officials in apartments and terraced houses.
The Europa Athletes Village is located next to the University of Gibraltar and the new Europa Sports Complex, competition venue for Badminton and Squash. The new Lathbury Sports Complex, competition venue for athletics, swimming and pistol shooting is short walk from the Athletes Village.
Hotels and other Accommodation
The Organising Committee have agreements with the majority of hotels and hostels in Gibraltar to accommodate Athletes and Officials not staying at the Europa Athletes Village. Bayside School will also be utilised to provide accommodation in classrooms, similar to what was used in the Bermuda Island Games in 2013.
